Through this meeting, our members will obtain an understanding of the association's accomplishments this year, key community issues, and future plans, the opportunity to able to participate in the election of our 2022-2023 YMNA Board of Directors, and hear from our local Toronto City Councillor.

Our annual zoom community safety event is returning for the first time in three years.

Guest Speaker:  Constable Joel Roberts, 33 Community Safety Liaison of the Toronto Metropolitan Police

Constable Roberts will provide an update regarding crime activity in the neighbourhood and offer suggestions on how we can keep our community safe. We welcome your questions, concerns and proposed solutions.

Come meet your neighbours, bring your friends, and network with local community leaders.

Light food appetizer platters will be provided. Non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks will need to be purchases by guests.

Give us an hour to help clean up our neighbourhood and to meet the YMNA board members and the residents in our community. It is amazing how one hour can change the look of our community. Meeting place: To be Confirmed

Environment Day is a great opportunity to clear out items found during spring cleaning such as used electronics, paints, solvents and glue, batteries, household hazardous waste, and fluorescent bulbs. Up to two free bags of compost per household will be available for pick-up, while supplies last. In addition to properly disposing of non-landfill items, the City will also be collecting donations of:

• Sporting goods;
• Books (excluding textbooks);
• Cameras, CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays;
• Dress-up clothing and costume jewelry;
• Clothing, footwear, accessories, and linens;
• Small household items;
• Musical instruments and board games;
• Eyeglasses, walking aids, and hearing aids; and
• Non-perishable food.

The YMNA will be attending and having a presence at this community cleanup. You can find more information on the items that will be accepted for drop-off or donation at my Community Environment Days by visiting the City's website.

GUEST SPEAKER: Dr. Stan Feinberg, from North York General Hospital

TOPIC: Join the York Mills Neighbours Association's (YMNA's) on welcoming back Dr. Stan Feinberg, from North York General Hospital for an encore webinar as he shares a general update on COVD-19 and discusses vaccines and roll-out plans, and the new COVID-19 variants. Come prepared to ask Dr. Feinberg questions about COVID-19.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Eileen de Villa who is the Medical Officer of Health for the City of Toronto will be our Special Guest in our final YMNA Virtual Town Hall webinar of 2020. Dr. De Villa will be discussing how the COVID-19 activity has been affecting the city, the risk facing us all and how we can help to reduce transmission through smart actions and choices.

After years of operating as separate associations, the YMGCA and YMLRA have merged into the YMNA to better serve our communities. OUr first ever YMNA AGM took place in October of 2019 and gave residents the chance to learn about key issues including membership updates, financial reports, association structure and the new resources & benefits of our newly unified community association. YMNA members are now invited to attend our second ever AGM< which will cover a similar set of issues, as well as relevant 2020 topics including Covid.

Celebrate the festive season and enjoy free food and drinks from the local businesses that sponsor the YMNA at our annual Holiday Social!

We are pleased to announce that Toronto Mayor John Tory will be our Special Guest in our 1st ever YMNA Virtual Town Hall on Wednesday, October 14th at 6:00pm.
The Mayor will be discussing the state of affairs at the City, key issues important in our neighbourhood (i.e., Community Safety, Transit, Development, Cutting Down of Trees) and appropriate COVID-19 related updates.

GUEST SPEAKER: Rob Oliphant, our Member of Parliament for Don Valley West

TOPIC: What the Federal Government is doing for our neighbourhood.  Rob will also touch upon economic issues, Covid-19 relevant updates and can discuss local issues such as aircraft noise.  You will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide comments to MP Oliphant during the webinar.

GUEST SPEAKER: Tim Syrianos, Broker Owner of RE/MAX Ultimate Realty Inc.

TOPIC: The state of the real estate market in Ontario and in our neighbourhood. Tim will also discuss key projects, mortgage financing rates and other relevant information. Tim will be answering questions from residents and neighbours.

GUEST SPEAKER: Tom Kazas, Director, Red Tape Policy and Business Relief Branch, Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade.

TOPICS: The province's progress on the re-opening of the economy, the latest updates related to COVID-19 and Q&A from resident's and YMNA members.

Adopting the former YMGCA’s tradition, the YMNA will host its annual Community Cleanup where volunteers will come together to clean the environment of a specific neighbourhood of choice. As the city grows, becoming more busy and dangerous, the importance of community safety increases. Our community safety night gives YMNA residents a chance to interact with Police representatives from local 32 and 33 divisions to discuss key safety concerns and solutions.
